A Soup for the Qan
Published in Hardcover by Kegan Paul (15 May, 2000)
Average review score:

Sino-Mongolian Treatise on wellnessJust managed to get a copy, and it is well worth the money I spent. As an avid food historian, this document being made available is invaluable to determining the cultural influences in the modern chinese humoral theory of food as medicine. I plan to spend many hours both finding many of the rare ingredients and recreating the foods as part of my studies.

Spain 1001 Sights: An Archaeological and Historical Guide
Published in Paperback by University of Calgary Press (February, 1992)
Average review score:

practical guide to the unknownThis isn't a book of Archeology: is a practical guide of the archeological sites in Spain form Stone Age to the Arab invasion. As Spain I think still has many unexplored sites, the author indicates those yet known though many times almost abandoned because investigation costs big money. For that he marks the routes, frequently far from populate cities because the distribution of the demography in Spain now is very irregular so, the interior is almost empty compared with the two big capitals and the Mediterranean coast. So this is as an archaeological Baedeker and no doubt the author has taken a big effort in finding, arriving and be oriented in difficult places, because Spanish ground is frequently very irregular and rough, not as France or Germany, countries much more explored and well indicated with warnings and posters until its minor findings. In Spain the pre or protohistoric places are located surely with full purpose in almost inaccessible locations, caves, etc. which need much further investigation. The period studied are enormous, from 3000 BC in the case of Tartessos, yet cited in the Bible, until about 1000 AC.

Special Gifts
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (March, 2001)
Average review score:

Cobble Street Cousins - Special GiftsThe "special gift" is this book and the entire series of Cobble Street Cousins. I am the proud mother of four lovely daughters and what a pleasure to find such a sweetly written book. I have recommended this book to friends with daughters and they have loved it as well. It is hard to find a morally appropriate, light, non-violent book for young girls. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is the type of book all little girls should grow up on.

The Spectre of Comparisons: Nationalism, Southeast Asia, and the World
Published in Paperback by Verso Books (September, 1998)
Average review score:

A Brilliant Diamond in the Bulk Production on "Nationalism"I bought, I read, I wonderd. I really think this must be a culminate work on "Nationalism" study among our contemporaries. At first you will see the argument of which this book treats is only limited to a regional/culturual/historical study on so-called Southeast Asia, but the author's brilliant thinking will lead us to the most effective "vantage ground" for analysing the universal "Nationalism" phenomena. I do recommend you this book and I do believe it is one of the must-have-items for every student and researcher who engages his/herself in human or social science.

Spilled Milk, Broken Vases and Misplaced Treasures
Published in Paperback by iUniverse.com (April, 2003)
Average review score:

Memories RelivedIt has been a while for me to read a book that is so full of emotion (I found it here). It really had me thinking of past joy, love, and sorrow. This is a book that is worth the read. I enjoyed the true love that the character in this book had for her family. Something, that even the book recognized, as lacking in this time that we are living in. We all need to leave some sort of legacy, and this book could be the one to show us how.

Squanto and the Pilgrims
Published in Hardcover by Harpercollins Juvenile Books (January, 1900)
Average review score:

Squanto and the PilgrimsThere are only a few books that I remember checking out of the library on a regular basis-and this is one of them. I haven't read the book in a long time but I remember reading about the triumphs and tragedies in Squantos life and feeling joy and sympathy for the character. I've always enjoyed reading, and I think that this book is one of the reasons that I got started on that path. Great book for boys and girls!

Star Wars: A Droid's Tale Soundstory (Star Wars)
Published in Hardcover by Golden Books Pub Co Inc (November, 1997)
Average review score:

My son loves this book!!!!We originally bought this book for our little boy at Toys R Us and he loved it so much that he broke the spine of the book. The soundstory feature makes this a great way to get a very young child more interested in books in general and that takes him/her one step closer to reading. My boy especially likes the page with the cantina band where he can press the buttons and make the different instruments play. If you have a toddler tearing about your house I give this my highest recomendation!

The Starian Wall: The Day Star Chronicles: Book One
Published in Paperback by iUniverse.com (May, 2001)
Average review score:

A fascinating and suprising page turner:On one side are the Crime Force, led by a brilliant young captain from L-2; the Crime Bureau with its refined tortures; and an undercover agent succeeding in a deadly climb. On the other stands an elderly man, the beautiful Susanna, a people willing to risk all--and the Starian Wall...
I could not put this book down. Though I have read many books in the science fiction and other types of genres, I have yet to read such an interesting and refreshing story. I have even read it numerous times since the first time (admitting my bias, I helped review/edit the book before it was published). Each time I pick up something new in the story.
This book is a brilliant work by a new author. This book does not fall into the usual stereotypical science fiction adventures.
I would highly recommend that you give this book a try.
